Why Clean Ingredients Matter More Than You Think

Scott Hadlock

"Clean ingredients" gets thrown around a lot. It's become almost a buzzword — slapped on packaging next to feel-good phrases that don't always mean much. I get why people tune it out.

But as a dad of five, I've come to believe it actually matters.

It adds up

Most of us don't think about the cumulative effect of the small stuff — the artificial preservatives in the granola bar, the synthetic flavors in the fruit snack, the added sugars in the "healthy" yogurt. I'm not a health nut. But when you start looking at what's actually in a lot of popular snacks, it's hard to ignore.

It doesn't have to be complicated

It just means choosing foods with ingredients you recognize. That's the idea behind Wise Harvest. Most of our snacks have one ingredient: the fruit or vegetable itself. No artificial preservatives, no synthetic flavors, no added sugars. For our more complex products like our Acai Bowl Bites and Avo-Mango Bites, every ingredient is real, plant-based, and has a name you can pronounce.

The bottom line

When you pick up a Wise Harvest pouch, you should be able to read every ingredient without needing to look anything up. That's the standard we hold ourselves to — and one we think every snack brand should be held to.
